EXTENDED: Call for Entry for Capitol Show, new deadline April 26th

by admin on April 12, 2013

1. Texas Sculpture Group at the Capitol

TSG has organized another exhibition opportunity for our members. This exhibit is open to all members who have freestanding work or are engaged in performance and will be held inside the State Capitol in Austin.
This is going to be a short exhibit but it will have an enormous audience: Included works will be seen by hundreds of high ranking, state officials, employees and their staff who pass throughout the work week but more importantly, by the hundreds of citizens who tour the amazing building every day.
This show is also doubling as one of TSG’s special social events; we will be lining up some studio visits, and a party around the closing reception at theCapitol on June 15Th. This will be a great opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow artists, to show your work…and to enjoy Austin. You will be able to retrieve your work from the show next day on the 16TH.  Also, knowing the short span of this show, we will be organizing carpools from Houston and Dallas to deliver work prior to the installation.
Our esteemed curator this time is Diana Roberts from San Antonio. She has curated, organized or installed over 100  exhibits in Texas and has also written for Sculpture magazine, Art News and Art Lies to name a few. More of her accomplishments are listed in the attached prospectus…open it up, have a look and apply!

After looking over the prospectus (attached), follow this link to apply by April 26.
