Entry Details
All members of Texas Sculpture Group are eligible to apply except for full time employees of Texas State University. It is anticipated that four—six artists will be selected for University Gallery II, two—four artists will be featured in FLEX Space Gallery and up to three artists may have an opportunity to install a work on the grounds of the School of Art & Design. Please refer to Diagram A to review floor plan of University Gallery II, Diagram B to review floor plan of FLEX Space Gallery.
Chad Dawkins will make selections based on a body of work and/or a proposal for a site-specific installation within the galleries or the campus grounds. Artists may submit up to four images for review (this can include a site specific proposal along with previous work for conceptual reference). Depending upon scale, concept and feasibility the curator may select multiple works from individual artists for exhibit. Proposals must be submitted as PDF files and should include: drawings, project objective, installation requirements, and project description. Videos are accepted, but must be VIMEO files with a duration no longer than 3 minutes. Entries for outdoor work must be represented by completed sculptures that are ready for installation as the outdoor pieces have to go through an administrative vetting process for campus installation.
The University Galleries will offer a small stipend to assist in the transportation of selected work and will be made available at the close of the exhibition. It is likely that selected artists whose works/installations require very specific requirements will need to be present for the installation and de-installation. Depending upon campus approval, selected outdoor works may have an extended exhibition run.
