The Texas Sculpture Group is please to announce the the publication of our first book, Contemporary Texas Sculpture: Artists of the Texas Sculpture Group. Published in celebration of the organization’s 15th anniversary, this 244-page, hard cover, full color, large format book features over 100 of our Artist Members from all over the state. It documents the wide-ranging aesthetic sensibilities of contemporary Texas sculptors, showcasing the dynamic range of what makes sculpture and sculptors distinct within the broader world of art.
Through biographical information, artist statements and over 600 photographs, this book presents both active Artist Members and an In Memoriam section to honor the mentors, colleagues and friends who helped establish the Texas Sculpture Group, emphasizing the sense of community and camaraderie central to the group’s mission. The book also includes an Exhibition History, documenting the 40-plus exhibitions organized by or featuring the Texas Sculpture Group, highlighting the many galleries, museums, art centers, curators and supporters that have participated in expanding the audience for contemporary sculpture within and beyond the region.
